Welcome to Csound! In these 10 short easy steps, you will be able to install, setup, and run Csound.

1. Create a new folder on hard drive by selecting File-New-Folder.

2. Rename 'New Folder' to 'Csound'.

3. Within the 'Csound', create 6 new folders. Name them 'Analysis', 'Bin', 'Orc&Sco', 'Rendered', 'Samples' and 'Winsound'.

4. Hold down the RIGHT button of your mouse, drag the file 'csound_new.zip' to the 'Bin' folder and release. Choose 'Extract to C:\Csound\Bin'.

5. Hold down the RIGHT button of your mouse, drag the file 'csound_win.zip' to the 'Winsound' folder and release. Choose 'Extract to C:\Csound\Winsound'.

6. RIGHT click on the Autoexec.bat file found in the root directory on your hard drive. Choose 'Edit'.

7. Add 'c:\Csound\Bin;' to your path setting. Insert 'SET SFDIR=c:\Csound\Rendered', 'SET SSDIR=c:\Csound\Samples' and 'SET SADIR=c:\Csound\Analysis' to your Autoexec.bat.

8. Reboot your computer.

9. Run WinSound by double clicking 'winsound.exe'.
