Contains annotated list of links to members of the IGC, the large umbrella organization on the Internet that covers the activities of peace, labor, environment, and social justice activist and interest groups. Has alphabetical link option to reduce search times over a very large list of members. Links cover groups ranging from the Academy of Family Mediators to Zero Population Growth. Comprehensive, with particularly helpful annotations.

Organized by the Philanthropy Journal, the well-organized site provides annotated links to activists, human rights groups, civil liberties and politics groups, relief and development groups, environmental and animal rights activists, and other lists of nonprofit organizations.
- NGO Related Resources
General jumping-off point focused on NGO activities and links. Site is divided into broad listings, specifics, women-oriented networks, and EU-oriented resources. Links are not comprehensive, but do offer some useful jumping-off points to major directories. Annotation is somewhat helpful, though the unusual layout may be difficult for some to navigate.
- Geneva International Non-Governmental Organizations
Lengthy list of nongovernmental organizations with activities and offices in Geneva. No links to the Web pages of these NGOs. Instead, the links provide contact and activity information about the NGO. Hyperlinks are the most logical next step, however.
- Progressive People Links
Site maintains set of links to various "progressive" organizations and resources on the Web. Links are divided into basic starting points, groups dedicated to "fundamentally changing the structure of society," women's sites, sites of and about people of color, human rights links, labor links, environmental links, ethical links, and media links. Well annotated; organization and layout is fairly clear. Useful jumping-off point for information on activists and NGOs.

Information, links, and resources for and about NGOs. Links to online documents and resources from NGO activities in various major global fora (particularly from UN conferences) around the world are particularly comprehensive, although they might be missed under the general sublink entitled "wise words." Massive directory (WebActive Directory) of links to activists on the Web. Contains 1,356 links in all, organized alphabetically, with good annotations and helpful search engine. Site also features a site-of-the-week, real-audio broadcast sites from around the Web, and job opportunities. For research purposes, site's best feature is the WebActive Directory, which is well annotated, extremely comprehensive, and easy to navigate.
- Jay's Leftist and "Progressive" Internet Resources Directory
Links to general leftist and "progressive" resources and hotlists, personal leftist and "progressive" homepages, newsgroups and listservs, links to alternative cultures, links to alternative media, "anarchisms," antinuclear movements, atheism, Canadian leftists and progressives, radical history, political economy, and environmentalism. Although not for everyone, it is a useful jumping-off point to a wide variety of Web sites.
- IdeaLIST
Major attraction of this site is its Web site directory of links to over 8,000 nonprofit Web sites around the world. Directory has a search engine and clickable map to reduce searches to regions and countries. General international resources are broken down by categories such as civil liberties and human rights, computers and technology, disaster relief, economic development, education, environment, immigration, peace and conflict resolution, race and ethnicity, religion, and women's issues. Contains links to other indexes and megadirectories of activists and nonprofit organizations on the Web.
- InterAction
A coalition of more than 150 nonprofit organizations based in the U.S. with activities and interest worldwide, InterAction maintains this site, with links to all 150 members, plus information on InterAction programs, fairly good links to NGOs worldwide (unannotated), U.S. government-related sites, and a few multilateral institutions. Particularly good for links to the 150 U.S.-based organizations and some of the worldwide NGOs.
