2x the impact for open access initiatives
Your gift to the MIT Press Fund for the Future will support publishing innovation and allow us to make high quality scientific content freely and openly available to anyone, anywhere in the world. Democratizing access to trustworthy information has never been more critical—it ignites understanding and encourages cross-pollination of the vital scientific research we need to address global challenges.

Open Access Week
The theme of this year’s International Open Access Week is “Community over Commercialization,” which is tailor-made for many of the efforts we have undertaken in our journals program in recent years. Nick Lindsay, director of journals and open access, outlines the latest open access initiatives at the Press.
Along with many of our outstanding partners like the MIT Press Bookstore and MIT Libraries, the MIT Press offers virtual, in-person, and hybrid events throughout the year. Join us for conferences and exhibits, author talks, panel discussions, and more.
Books for scifiophiles
Our authors, loyal readers, and staff are all unapologetically enthusiastic about their niche interests. If that makes us nerds, we’ll wear the honorific proudly.
We’ve put together book recommendations for every type of nerd, including the fans of science fiction. Whatever flavor of sci-fi, from hard science and speculative tales to cyberpunk and proto-science fiction classics, we’ve got you covered.
Happy holidays and happy reading, nerds.
