International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day

It’s International Women’s Day. Today we celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievement of women. The MIT Press BITS—free excerpts from influential MIT Press books—offers four selections dedicated to honoring the achievements of women in technology. Explore these BITS to discover the computer visionary Grace Hopper, the global biopolitics of the IUD, the untold history of women and computing, and how a rare group of women worked their way into engineering in the era before World War II.
