Jermey Matthews, Acquisitions Editor

Jermey recently joined the MIT Press after working for nine years as a science writer and the book reviews editor for Physics Today, the internationally circulated magazine published by the American Institute of Physics. Prior to that, he worked as a postdoctoral associate at Howard University in Washington, DC, where he conducted materials science and environmental engineering research. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s and PhD degree in chemical engineering. Jermey will bring his experiences and connections to bear in the development of a new, dedicated list for titles in the Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Mathematics. His current focus is on trade books and textbooks in physics, astronomy, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, and mathematics. He can be reached at jnamatt@mit.edu or at https://about.me/jermeymatthews.
