An Evening for Ray Johnson with Ellen Levy
October 16 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
On Wednesday October 16, from 6:30-7:30 pm, join us for a book talk and signing with author Ellen Levy who will be presenting A Book About Ray, the first full-career survey of the idiosyncratic life and work of Ray Johnson, a collagist, performance artist, and pioneer of mail art who was born in Detroit on October 16, 1927.
Preorders for signed copies of A Book About Ray can be ordered at the Book Beat Gallery.
We are especially honored to host this book launch as Johnson was a friend of the bookstore and a correspondent with the store’s co-owner Cary Loren. We will be recording Ellen’s talk live on Zoom as part of our 3rd annual Ray Johnson celebration. Please send your name and email to: bookbeatorders@gmail.com if you’d like to receive a link to join our annual Ray Johnson Zoom celebrations.
