September 19 @ 5:00 pm 6:00 pm

P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome the Sustainable Media Center for a thought-provoking discussion on the future of artificial intelligence, featuring Gary Marcus, author and renowned technologist, in conversation with Raffi Krikorian, Chief Technical Officer of Engineering at Emerson Collective and host of the Technically Optimistic podcast

The discussion will explore the contrasting views on AI’s potential and risks, as highlighted in Marcus’s latest book, Taming Silicon Valley: How Big Tech is Taking Advantage of Us, How AI is Making it Worse, and How We Can Create a Thriving, AI-Positive World. Marcus, known for his critical perspective on AI, will discuss how the technology, if left unchecked, could lead to significant societal challenges.

Joining him is Raffi Krikorian, an optimist about AI’s potential to drive social good. With his extensive experience in technology leadership roles, including overseeing Uber’s driverless car program and designing Twitter’s backend infrastructure, Krikorian will provide a balanced view on how AI can be harnessed for positive change.
