Sequence Press and Urbanomic - now distributed by The MIT Press
Sequence Press, established in 2010 on New York’s Lower East Side, is dedicated to publishing primary texts in contemporary philosophy and the arts, and bringing them to a wide audience. Katherine Pickard, cofounder of Sequence, sees the distribution partnership with the MIT Press as part of their continued evolution and growth.
“Sequence was initially established as an independent press and bookshop housed within Miguel Abreu Gallery,” explained Pickard. “Over the last nine years, we’ve developed alongside our writers and now look to the MIT Press to help us continue to expand our readership internationally.”
As the MIT Press takes on logistics and marketing aspects of the business, Sequence and Urbanomic look forward to focusing their efforts to support authors, scan developing fields of thought, and build new audiences.
