The MIT Press journals join MIT Press Direct on the Silverchair Platform

With the addition of 39 of the Press’s journals, MIT Press Direct offers a comprehensive, unified access point for all MIT Press digital content

Silverchair and the MIT Press announce the launch of 39 of the Press’s journals on the Silverchair Platform. These journals join the thousands of MIT Press ebooks on the Press’s institutional content platform MIT Press Direct, which launched in 2018.

MIT Press Direct now provides a more comprehensive, unified access point for all MIT Press digital content, offering a seamless and consistent experience for users. The MIT Press Direct site delivers significant works in economics, business innovation, machine learning and AI, environment, evolution, and energy. On the Silverchair Platform, the MIT Press journals now benefit from a flexible platform that can accommodate the diverse content that the MIT Press publishes, ranging from highly technical titles with LaTeX mathematical computations to heavily illustrated art and architecture volumes.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with the MIT Press and look forward to what the Press can now achieve with their digital content on a unified platform,” said Thane Kerner, CEO of Silverchair, the leading independent platform partner for scholarly and professional publishers. “Our collaboration with the MIT Press has been both energizing and enjoyable, and we are proud to support them and other distinguished university presses in meeting the changing and expanding needs of their users.”

“We are delighted to once again partner with Silverchair and unite our ebooks and journals on a single platform,” said Nick Lindsay, director of journals and open access at the MIT Press. “The newly expanded site will allow us to deliver a competitive, contemporary experience for our journals to our institutional and individual customers.”
